Michael Anugwa, deputy controller of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), says he was not suspended by the service. Anugwa is the officer in charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-kiri, Lagos state, where Idris Okuneye, a popular crossdresser better known as Bobrisky, served his time.

While speaking at the House of Representatives investigation panel, Anugwa said he is yet to be served any suspension letter.

‘It was a social media report. I wasn’t served a letter”

Recall that last week Thursday, September 30, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board in a statement suspended Mr Anugwa and the Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), in charge of Maximum-Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-Kiri, Lagos State, Sikiru Adekunle

The statement that Ja’afaru Ahmed signed said the suspension of these officers was to allow for further investigation of the various allegations while assuring that the outcome would be made public when concluded. The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo shared the statement on his X handle.
