Many Nigerians will be resigning from their places of work this month because they can no longer cope with the increase in transportation fare - X influencer says

A Nigerian influencer on X, Chude, says many young Nigerians will be resigning from their places of employment over their inability to pay their transport fares.

Recall that on August 9, the pump price of petrol from jacked up from N568 to N878 and above, depending on the location. The increase in pump price of petrol has inevitably caused an increase in transport fares.

Many Nigerian workers have been forced to spend more money on transportation without any commensurate increase in their wages.

Chude pointed out that many would be forced to resign as they would not be able to continue transporting themselves to work.

Nigerians who are battling with the increase in transportation shared their experiences. Those with vehicles say they have parked their cars as it is more cheaper for them to commute via public transport than with their cars.
