Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has conceded that the Premier League title may already be out of their reach.
Guardiola suffered a fourth consecutive defeat for the first time in his managerial career, after City lost 2-1 at Brighton.
Fabian Hurzeler’s side came from behind to take all three points.
Joao Pedro cancelled out Erling Haaland’s opener, before Matt O’Riley scored the winner on his Premier League debut.
Liverpool then beat Aston Villa 2-0 to go five points clear at the top of the table.
“Maybe after seven years winning six Premier Leagues, maybe one year another team deserves it,” Guardiola told reporters after the game.
