Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has opened up on Edu leaving his role as sporting director at the club.
According to Arteta, the former midfielder got an offer for “a different role” and decided to pursue it.
Edu is expected to accept an offer Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis’ network of clubs.
He resigned from his position at Arsenal on Monday afternoon after five years at the Emirates.
“He’s had an amazing opportunity in a different role and he believes that it’s the right professional move for him,” Arteta said.
‘We have to respect that and from the bottom of my heart I think everybody really feels that we want the best for him.”
