Fire engulfed the premises of Radio Nigeria, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
The fire, which started around 5:30 p.m., engulfed the studio section of the one-storey building.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority confirmed the incident via its official X account, warning commuters to avoid the area as emergency teams battled the inferno.
It posted, “Ikoyi Fire Accident. Radio Nigeria is on fire while fire fighters are already on the ground to put out the fire.
“Meanwhile all the roads have been blocked for motorists to go through alternative routes.”
Firefighters from Dolphin, Ebute Elefun, and Oba Oniru Fire Stations were first on the scene, supported by the Federal Fire Service, the Nigeria Police Force, and other emergency responders.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, but investigations are underway.
No casualties have been reported.
