The Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Oludaisi Elemide, has harped on the need for more investment in the country’s technical and vocational training.
Elemide stated that this would help the state and, by extension, the nation to have the needed manpower for technological and infrastructural development.
He stated this while playing host to the delegation from the Ahmaddiyyah Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria on the inauguration of Masroor International Technical College, MITC, sponsored by the international Ahmadi Architect and Engineers Association, IAAAE, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, on Tuesday.
The Speaker lamented the dearth of skilled manpower in technical and vocational areas in the country, stressing that the Assembly had continued to partner with the executive arm in the state to resuscitate technical and vocational education.
Also speaking, the Deputy Speaker, Bolanle Ajayi lauded the religious organisation for its quality contributions to the technical and vocational education of the State, saying that at least five members of her constituency would be sponsored through various technical and vocational trainings in the institution.
Earlier in their remarks, the Chairman of IAAAE, Europe, Headquartered in the UK, Sir Akram Ahmed and Nigeria chairman of the association, Mufadhil Bankole, stated that the school would run various trainings in electrical installation, refrigeration and air conditioning, plumbing and pipe fitting, ICT- Compsoftwareware maintenance and repair, soft ware and building amongst others.
